Sooooo, it’s been a while right? Well I’m back – trying to help the dudes of this world look better… maybe? When KB asked me to re-emerge from the depths of my miserable life to talk about What to Wear to Work, I had visions of all of the ill-fitting, suit-and-tie bullshit I encounter every day, and said, “Absolutely!”
Well here you go! A little high-low combination for you to feast your eyes on. Let me break it down for you: don’t be basic. I like to explore complementary separates, get everything tailored, and be a little bold with colour.
To me, nothing breaks down overtly formal vibes than separates. Grey jacket, dark denim – pair that up with a simple button-up and you’re done. There are limitless fabric, colour and pattern combinations to explore; and if it all fits right: you’re bold, confident and incredibly fashionable – instant street cred (as you can obviously see).
Finally let me be clear about something: shoes matter. A LOT. They should always be clean, polished, leather, and have an appropriate silhouette (i.e. not be fat, oversized clown shoes). They also don’t always have to be black.
Now let’s get low. Some small tweaks and you too can look this good for post-work libations. This next combination is literally the same base outfit with a change in footwear and top most layer. So simple! I love to layer up – sweatshirt over a button-up!? YUP. Throw on some clean leather sneakers and watch everyone swoon.
TIP: how many different combinations do you think are possible with just these pieces? Switch out the leather brogues with the white sneakers during your work day – OMG. If you need a little extra layer after hours? Throw on that blazer over-top your sweatshirt.

There you have it – my version of What to Wear to Work. If you’ve got an idea about men’s fashion, don’t bother telling me, because I might think it’s stupid… just kidding. We want to hear from you!
Thank you Sarah for your amazing photography brilliance! And thanks KB for dragging my sorry ass out of the shadows in order to contribute! Remember when we had the exact same chambray shirt? Maybe we can share outfits (spoiler alert).
