BEETLEJUICE FASHION

More often than you think women look to unusual pop culture characters for fashion inspiration. Not everyone is scanning the pages of Vogue for direction. Take for example, Beetlejuice. This is a man (ghost) who knows what he likes. He has a uniform and sticks with it. He knows how to play with flattering patterns (black and white vertical stripes), he knows what silhouettes look best (a nicely tailored suit, thank you very much) and the boy definitely knows when to add a pop of colour (purple eye shadow and green hair will do nicely). But how does a living breathing lady take that look from the afterlife into real life? Quite easily as it turns out.Image of Suzanne in a black and white striped dress, bright red tights and white and red booties, read more about in on the NEAT blog

Start with the basics; black and white stripes. To avoid looking like a referee steer clear of anything that laces up, especially hockey skates. Next try for a dress; anything in a suit form is going to look like Halloween. We want whiffs of Beetlejuice inspiration, not a look entirely doused in it. Then incorporate some bold colour, anything will do. We have a feeling that if Beetlejuice had more to play with then his macabre death palate he would have been a fan of hot pink for sure. Now mussy up that hair and grab some fun accessories and voila, you are Beetlejuice’s warm-blooded wet dream!

Once you’ve got the look down take to the streets to wreak havoc and haunt people after hours. But just remember to avoid any witches, because a shrunken head is hard to pull off, even for Beetlejuice.

Happy fashion hunting (and haunting)!
